COPIAGUE, NY — A 21-year-old vape store employee was arrested and charged with selling e-cigarettes to a child in Copiague on Monday, Suffolk police said.
Officers investigated GN Smoke & Cigar Shop Inc., located at 1635 Great Neck Road, at 4 p.m, after receiving numerous community complaints.
The 21-year-old clerk, of Amityville, was charged with sale of a restricted e-cigarette, police said.
He was issued a field appearance ticket and released on the scene, police said.
He is due to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on Nov. 25.
Babylon Town officials issued numerous building code violations and summonses to the business and property owners.
Due to numerous safety violations, the premises was deemed an unsafe structure and condemned by the Town Fire Marshal, officials said.
