The San Pablo EDC is hosting Amazon for a virtual hiring event on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 2-3 pm via Zoom or telephone.
Job seekers will be able to speak with an Amazon recruiter and learn more about the multitude of local career opportunities available at Amazon.
Amazon is hiring for many different positions, at their Richmond locations and elsewhere all over the Bay Area, offering good starting wages and a quick path to benefits for fulltime positions. Did you know that Amazon not only hires warehouse associates and delivery drivers, but also pharmacy technicians, grocery associates, customer service representatives, and more?
Amazon provides on-the-job training and internal promotion opportunities to their employees. In this virtual hiring event, you’ll hear from an Amazon recruiter who is a young man from our local community who has advanced rapidly up the Amazon career ladder.
Training programs for Amazon employees to advance their careers include Amazon Technical Academy, a free nine-month internal program to train workers to be software engineers; and the Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship, which teaches employees to perform technical maintenance for Amazon’s robotics technology. Amazon also offers three education programs to train employees in data maintenance and technology, IT, and user experience and research design. Additionally, Amazon’s Career Choice program offers prepaid tuition for college courses, as well as high school diplomas, GEDs, and English as a Second Language certifications.
