After Amazon announced a promotion allowing customers to thank their delivery drivers with a $5 tip from the company, the program ended abruptly on Saturday. As the busiest time of the year for delivery drivers continues, some customers have their own ways of thanking those who deliver their packages.
Little things can go a long way, so be sure to clear a path as soon as possible during snow and keep their path free of ice and clutter. Remember that while your pet may be friendly, delivery personnel don’t know that and making sure your dog won’t charge the door or fence during their route can help reduce the driver’s stress and keep your pets safe. And if you are on a tight budget where tips and gifts aren’t possible, even just a handwritten note can show your appreciation and bring a little happiness during a hectic day.

Some homes have continued to leave snacks and drinks for their drivers. They’re often greatly appreciated by delivery personnel — and sometimes local wildlife.
Customers can’t have the company send Amazon drivers tips anymore, but if they’re home, they’re willing to give their own cash.
Only the first 1 million thank yous were planned to result in tips, and customers reached that number a day after it started. This left some customers angry, and others wondering if any drivers would receive tips at all.
